neighbors

Our family has recently been challenged to love on our neighborhood, find needs, and meet them! The girls and I have especially loved this project and it's been something that has really brought us all closer to Christ. It really is amazing what God uses in our lives to bring us at His feet; I love it!!

Here's what the girls had to say about their experience so far:

MA- (7y)
I have learned you need to help others even though you sometimes don't want to. You should use your creativity and uniqueness and do everything you can to change someone else's life.

AK- (12y)
It's been really fun thinking of creative ideas to reach people and it has been amazing seeing how we've already found people that we can help. I can't wait to see our neighborhood grow to be an amazing place to live and all the friends we'll meet.

I'd encourage you to listen to these sermons for yourself and hear how God used an ordinary man to rebuild an amazing city in only 52 days! http://www.newvisiononline.net/templates/System/details.asp?id=28514&PID=886431 (this link includes the audio, video, podcast, notes, & a discussion guide)

November 4th - 10th

We've had a busy week.

  1. We've collected leaves and sticks that we're going to use for a project.
  2. We've made scenes out of cardbord and had fun playing with our petshop's animals in them.
  3. We've had a great week at church. MA is learning about UNIQUENESS and AK is learning about Jonah and the "Ninevah's" in her life. (here's the link to the sermon on Jonah, in case you care to hear it: http://www.newvisiononline.net/templates/System/details.asp?id=28514&PID=824045)
  4. We're SUPER excited that we've got Famous Dave's FREE kids meal coupons! (in case you don't know, it's the BEST BBQ in TN!!)
  5. We're reading LOTS and LOTS of books. Some of them we're reading together and some we're reading by ourselves. MA's favorite is the Pony Pals series and AK's is the Left Behind series.
  6. We're anxiously waiting for our last caterpillar to hatch. It's been a LONG time!
  7. Allergies are bad for us right now; especially AK. :P
  8. We've been having fun with Drew. He's getting so big and he's SO cute!
  9. We're SUPER excited that it's 15 more days 'till Thanksgiving!! YAY!
We hope you all have had a great week, so far. We're enjoying getting to email lots of you. We hope you'll continue to read our blogs and emails. Thanks for sharing life with us!

November 1st - November 3rd

MA-
Monday, we went to Sam's Club and ate delicious hot dogs and a yummy Four Berry Sundae! The sundae was pretty and yummy. I love Sam's Club and I missed it so much! My sister, Anna, gave away origami Christmas trees to the people at Sam's. Now she's teaching me how to make them. She's my best friend!

Yesterday, we went to the Beard's house and I played the Wii with Rachael and Zack. It was great because it was only the second time I played the Wii. I love playing with them because they are nice Christian friends that go to my church.

Anna-
Yesterday, my middle school group had a get-together at a huge house! I saw only one of my friends, Jasmine, and I also met a new friend, Emily. We had a blast with the tag games!

Momma, MA, and Andrew watched Toy Story 3 inside. Momma told me how concerned Andrew was for Buzz and Woody; even though it was just a movie. From what she told me, I wish that I could have seen him squirm and cry for Buzz. ;)

The other night, we watched Letters to God as a family and I loved it! Tyler had cancer and instead of praying to God, he wrote letters to Him. Because of his letters, lives were changed and hundreds of kids start to write to God, too. Tyler has a treasure box that he puts his Bible and special stuff in, so MA and I made a treasure box as well. I put some pictures, some of the Christian girl books my mom gave me, and my Bible. It is really nice to have a special spot to put that stuff. If you don't have a "treasure box", I would encourage you to make one.

Please watch Letters to God; it's an amazing movie about hope and courage. This movie encouraged me to reach out to people in ways that I didn't know was possible.

Christy-
Wow! How can you not be so proud of these girls?!? I am SO thankful for this opportunity to love and teach them about Christ. ;)

Introduction to this Blog. ;)

This blog will be just for MA and Anna to write their thoughts and to fill you in on what's been going on in their world. I hope you enjoy getting a peak into their lives. ;)

They chose "JC's Girls" because it stands for Jesus Christ's Girls. ;D I love their stand for Him!
